City of Camarillo General Plan
PREFACE
This edition of the City of Camarillo General Plan is a reprinting
of the document as it currently exists. While several of the
elements have been updated over the past couple of years, the
basic framework of the city’s General Plan lies with the
adoption of the plan in the early 1970’ s and the various updates
over the years since.
The plan has endured the test of time. The product of that plan
is being realized based on the community goals and ideas
expressed by the citizen committees and its adoption by the
policy makers. The development of the plan and its
implementation was shepherded by the long- time Director of
Community Development, Matthew A. “ Tony” Boden, whose
vision is evident in the community today and into the future.
It is hoped that the new version will be easier to use and to
update. More importantly, the new version has also been set up
to allow for an electronic version of the document. The
document, including the map, will be made available in a CD
version to take advantage of current technology. In addition, it
will be posted on the city’s website at www. ci. camarillo. ca. us.
